- Interact with clients to understand their acoustical needs
- Collaborate with a team of acoustical consultants with varying experience
- Manage projects from schematic design to completion
- Conduct acoustical measurements and prepare test reports
- Work with other technical systems designers on diverse projects, including sports venues, education, corporate offices, civic buildings, and environmental noise control
- Develop and implement acoustical designs
- Perform testing, analysis, and modeling of acoustic systems
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related audio/technical field
- Experience or strong interest in acoustical design, sound isolation, and noise control
- Ability to apply acoustical principles using physics, engineering, and mathematics
- Strong desire to excel in acoustical consulting and design

We are currently seeking a talented Acoustic Consultant with 3 to 10 years of experience to join our Denver, Colorado office. The successful candidate will work on a range of high-profile projects, conduct field measurements, build acoustic computer models, and provide consulting to optimize acoustic performance while mitigating unwanted noise and vibration.
The ideal candidate will have experience in consulting and acoustic engineering, along with a solid understanding of acoustic principles and their real-world applications in building and environmental acoustics. Proficiency in using sound and vibration testing equipment and the ability to measure and analyze the effects of noise and vibration from both interior and exterior sources are essential.
Responsibilities will encompass field noise and vibration measurements, data analysis and evaluation, designing document and specification reviews, and report preparation. Experience across various sectors, including education, healthcare, government, commercial, residential, and hospitality, will be a significant asset.
Project management experience, participation in multi-disciplinary design teams, and coordination with architects, engineers, project managers, and developers are crucial. We value qualities and experience that build on a strong client service and management foundation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide acoustic consulting in architectural & mechanical acoustics, & environmental noise control, and vibration isolation projects.
- Manage all aspects of your assigned projects and work closely with the project team from beginning to end, focusing on budget, scheduling, design, client and consultant communication, and coordination.
- Play an integral role in the project coordination, acting as the primary point of contact between the design team and the user/client to ensure a successful implementation of acoustic design elements.
- Interact with vendors to facilitate design details for the project team and proper specification of acoustic systems and products.
- Collect and analyze noise and vibration data. Perform calculations and site surveys/construction administration punch-lists.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD/BIM, EASE, Sound Plan, and Microsoft application suite.
- This role may involve 5-15% travel, both domestically and internationally.
- It is a hybrid position that requires in-office attendance at our Denver location for at least three days a week, though this may increase to five days depending on project or departmental needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, architectural acoustics, physics, audio technology, or a similar degree with coursework in architectural acoustics.
- 3+ years’ experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in developing relationships with staff and clients.
- Client focus, with a commitment to quality and problem-solving.
- Functional knowledge of the Bluebeam PDF software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite/Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
- Project Management Certification is a plus.
