Junior Consultant Position Geiler & Associates, LLC is located in Aurora, Colorado has an opening for an junior acoustical consultant. Our Firm was established 1998 and is an independent consulting firm in acoustics and presentation technologies.  We are a member of the National Council of Acoustic Consultant (NCAC) and numerous professional societies.  Our licensed professionals have extensive experience in the acoustic design of studios, auditoria, cinemas, large format theaters, worship spaces, K-12 Schools, higher education facilities, museums and low, mid & high rise multifamily residences. We are a small dynamic firm whose goal is to provide our clients with the highest quality acoustic and presentation technology consulting services.  Our services typically include architectural acoustics, exterior and interior sound insulation, mechanical systems noise & vibration control, audio & video system design, performance lighting, drapery & rigging design, environmental and acoustic compliance testing. Our services are provided from planning and design programming through working drawings and specifications, and construction administration assistance.  We provide consulting services for a wide range of facilities, both domestic and international. Candidates Capabilities and Experience:
  • B.S. in architectural, mechanical or electrical engineering, or B.A. with an emphasis in acoustics.
  • Minimum 3 months experience or internship in acoustical consulting.
  • Good written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.  Experience with 3-D acoustic modeling programs a plus (EASE, CadnaA, CadnaR, or similar).
  • Experience conducting environmental, HVAC, and architectural acoustic measurements.
  • Experience with Audio/Visual and Theatrical design is a plus.
Responsibilities will include assisting senior staff with the following:
  • Attending project meetings with Clients.
  • Reviewing project design documents and providing recommendations on room acoustics, sound isolation, environmental noise control, HVAC noise & vibration control.
  • Developing audio & video system design narratives, cost estimates drawings and specifications.
  • Conducting field acoustic testing and preparing written reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Must be reliable, motivated, serious and able to manage, schedule, coordinate projects.

  • Provide acoustic consulting in architectural & mechanical acoustics, & environmental noise control, and vibration isolation projects.
  • Manage all aspects of your assigned projects and work closely with the project team from beginning to end, focusing on budget, scheduling, design, client and consultant communication, and coordination.
  • Play an integral role in the project coordination, acting as the primary point of contact between the design team and the user/client to ensure a successful implementation of acoustic design elements.
  • Interact with vendors to facilitate design details for the project team and proper specification of acoustic systems and products.
  • Collect and analyze noise and vibration data. Perform calculations and site surveys/construction administration punch-lists.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD/BIM, EASE, Sound Plan, and Microsoft application suite.
  • This role may involve 5-15% travel, both domestically and internationally.
  • It is a hybrid position that requires in-office attendance at our Denver location for at least three days a week, though this may increase to five days depending on project or departmental needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, architectural acoustics, physics, audio technology, or a similar degree with coursework in architectural acoustics.
  • 3+ years’ experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in developing relationships with staff and clients.
  • Client focus, with a commitment to quality and problem-solving.
  • Functional knowledge of the Bluebeam PDF software

Annual Salary Range: $75,000- $120,000. The salary range provided represents only one aspect of the overall employee compensation package. The Position

We are looking for entry-level or early-career (3 to 7 years) acoustical consultants in our San Francisco, San Jose, or Los Angeles offices. Applicants should be excited about the field and be interested in learning quickly, taking initiative, and engaging with colleagues and clients.

Our services include sound isolation, room acoustics, MEP system noise and vibration, environmental noise analyses, and vibration studies. We work with architects, building owners, and other consultants on issues relating to sound and vibration in buildings.

We provide direction and on-the-job training, and expect a high degree of independence. We are looking for people who can take on tasks and think critically about next steps. This position requires attention to detail, report writing, and interaction with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing project drawings, such as architectural, mechanical, and structural plans
  • Developing recommendations for architects and consultants in other disciplines
  • Conducting acoustical measurements and analyzing data for environmental noise and vibration, HVAC noise, reverberation times, reflection patterns, and sound isolation
  • Presenting technical information in clear language and graphics
  • Visiting construction sites, using ladders, carrying equipment, and occasional collection of data late night or early morning

About the Role

The Acoustics Department at AKRF is seeking a Senior Acoustical Consultant to be based out of New York City, NY or Mt. Laurel, NJ office. This individual will work with the department to provide noise and vibration analysis and review on a broad range of public and private development projects. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of the region. Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, manage, and contribute to noise and vibration impact analyses for environmental review of land development, transportation, energy production/distribution, infrastructure, and other project typologies
