Colin Gordon Associates is a small but internationally recognized vibration and noise control consulting firm. In addition to projects covering a full range of vibration, acoustics, and noise control, we specialize in the design of low-vibration and low-noise buildings for the microelectronics, nanotechnology, imaging, and research communities, and are seen as a leader in this environment. This is an opportunity to participate in an area of expanding importance, developing unique solutions to new and interesting challenges in noise and vibration control. We are seeking applicants for a consultant to join our team.

Applicants should have a BS degree or higher in civil/structural engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics, with a MS degree preferred. Candidates with a broad range of technical backgrounds will be considered. Familiarity with measurement instruments, DSP, general theory of acoustics and vibration, and/or building design and construction are desirable. Previous consulting experience or other work in vibration and noise control is preferred. The position will involve computer modeling for vibration and acoustics analyses, which could include finite element analysis (FEA) of structural systems, building acoustics modeling and ray tracing, and/or environmental noise modeling. Prior coursework in, experience with, or interest in learning such software is ideal.

Good written and oral communication skills are required. The applicant must be able to work in a team environment, but also independently, as travel and field measurement work is required. Candidates local to the San Francisco Bay Area of California are preferred.

We offer excellent salaries and benefits (health, 401(k)/profit sharing, etc.). CGA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
