Audiovisual Consultant

Position Summary
Acoustics By Design is seeking an Audiovisual Consultant for our Grand Rapids, Michigan location. As an Audiovisual Consultant at Acoustics By Design, you willl work under the supervision of the Senior Audiovisual Consultant to provide project management and consult on a diverse range of high-profile projects. You will be engaging with end users and clients to identify needs and applications for technologies, as well as identify future trends and develop infrastructure to serve those applications into the future, anticipating how they may change and grow. Your responsibilities will include working with architects, engineers and facilities operators to ensure audiovisual systems are a planned and integral part of the facility design vision, including the building systems and operational aspects of the facility long after occupancy.

The consultant will work alongside our senior project management, acoustics, and BIM/CAD team to produce programming reports and budgets, plan and coordinate systems design and infrastructure documentation – including drawings and specifications, as well as provide construction administration duties, closeout and commissioning of completed systems, and ongoing client relationship support post-occupancy. The ideal candidate will understand the role of consultant as well as have some experience working in related fields.

Job Requirements
• Bachelors or Post-Graduate Degree in Engineering, theater design degree, and/or industry certification. Infocomm CTS certification.
• AV Systems design experience, structured cabling systems and/or network design, and/or control systems programming experience is a plus.
• Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to think creatively and envision future developments and trends in our industry.
• Excellent time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of audio-visual technology, control systems, and media networks.
• Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel. Knowledge of Revit desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and outstanding team skills.
• Willingness to be flexible, performing responsibilities not specifically identified in the job description and assuming new responsibilities as ABD’s needs change.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Availability to relocate to our office in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Job Requirements

SENIOR ACOUSTICAL CONSULTANT/ENGINEER, DENVER, CO

A leading acoustical consulting firm, D. L. Adams Associates, Inc., is seeking an individual to fill the position of Senior Consultant in its Denver, Colorado office. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a field of engineering or science is required with 15+ years of experience in architectural acoustics and environmental noise is required. In addition, this individual should be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Colorado or should be eligible to become registered here.

He or she will be responsible for the preparation of design documents, writing and/or editing reports, participating in project design team meetings, coordinating with other design team members concerning acoustical design details, developing acoustical criteria for different types of facilities, and preparing proposals for new work. Geiler & Associates, LLC is located in Aurora, Colorado has an opening for an acoustical and/or audio & video system consultant.

Our Firm was established 1998 and is an independent consulting firm in acoustics and presentation technologies. We are a member of the National Council of Acoustic Consultants (NCAC) and numerous professional societies.

Our licensed professionals have extensive experience in the acoustic design of studios, auditoria, cinemas, large format theaters, worship spaces, K-12 Schools, higher education facilities, museums and low, mid & high rise multifamily residences.

We are a small dynamic firm whose goal is to provide our clients with the highest quality acoustic and presentation technology consulting services. Our services typically include architectural acoustics, exterior and interior sound insulation, mechanical systems noise & vibration control, audio & video system design, performance lighting, drapery & rigging design, environmental and acoustic compliance testing.

Our services are provided from planning and design programming through working drawings and specifications, and construction administration assistance. We provide consulting services for a wide range of facilities, both domestic and international.

Candidates Capabilities and Experience:
• Should have a B.S. in architectural, mechanical or electrical engineering or B.A. with an emphasis in acoustics.
• Minimum 2 years in acoustics and audio & video design.
• Good written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, M.S. Office with experience with 3-D acoustic modeling programs a plus
• Experience conducting environmental, HVAC and architectural acoustic measurements.

Responsibilities will include:
• Attending project meetings with Clients.
• Reviewing project design documents and providing recommendations on room acoustics, sound isolation, environmental noise control, HVAC noise & vibration control.
• Developing audio & video system design narratives, cost estimates drawings and specifications based on the Client needs and direction.
• Conduct field acoustic testing and written reports detailing findings and recommendations.
• Some travel may be required.
• Experience with Audio and theatrical design is a plus.
• Must be reliable, motivated, serious and able to manage, schedule, coordinate projects.
